Abstract: The recently propagated concept of the Knowledge Economy challenges the established, linear model of technological progress as detached from reality. The new propositions - based on observation of what actually works - strikingly correspond to the experience accumulated with evolutionary algorithms while investigating their saddle crossing abilities.
